Shadow Chasing

Some dogs can develop a condition called “shadow chasing” where they obsessively chase and bark at their own shadow. This behavior is most commonly seen in high-energy breeds such as the Australian Cattle Dog and Border Collie.

The exact cause of this behavior is not known, but it may be related to a lack of physical and mental stimulation. Shadow chasing can lead to exhaustion and can become dangerous if the dog becomes too fixated on the behavior and ignores other important cues such as hunger or thirst.
