The Coton de Tulear
The Coton is one of the cutest and rarest purebreds that got its start on the island of Madagascar more than three centuries ago and for many years were owned only by royalty. They were named Coton due to their cottony white fluffy coat and Tulear (or Toliara) due to where the breed originated. Coton’s are considered lap dogs as they love to snuggle. They are easy to train, obedient, and entertaining with cute puppy-like personalities that are slow to get angry and love to play. Cotons do not bark much except to warn you of visitors. They get along well with children, other pets, and even cats.
